Growth Pilot vs LeadJourney: Two Ways to Do B2B Attribution

This comparison needs its disclaimer up front: LeadJourney is the closest competitor in this series. Both products aim at the same B2B pain: a buyer touches your marketing eight times over six weeks, closes in the CRM where no pixel can see it, and the channel that opened the deal gets none of the credit.

Both track journeys, stitch identities and attribute revenue across touches. The difference is the shape of the product around that core, and the shape should decide your pick.

The two products in one sentence each

  • LeadJourney is a B2B multi-touch attribution specialist: it tells marketing teams and agencies which campaigns produce revenue, and feeds that truth back into the ad platforms.
  • Growth Pilot is a growth cockpit where journeys are one instrument among several: multi-touch timelines next to AAARRR metrics, loops, A/B tests and missions.

What LeadJourney does exceptionally well

Credit where it is due, in three specific places.

Retroactive conversion uploads to the ad platforms. This is LeadJourney's sharpest edge. B2B conversions happen late, weeks after the click, and by then Google Ads and Meta have optimized toward whatever cheap signal they could see. LeadJourney's live ad-platform connections push the real conversion back, retroactively, tied to the original click, so bidding reweights toward campaigns that produce revenue rather than form fills. If you spend serious budget on paid channels for long-cycle deals, that loop compounds, and Growth Pilot does not have an automatic version of it today. More on that below.

CRM breadth. LeadJourney advertises 100+ CRM integrations. In agency land, where every client arrives with a different CRM, that catalog decides whether a rollout takes an afternoon or becomes a services project.

Agency-shaped positioning. LeadJourney is aimed squarely at agencies and B2B marketing teams and publishes case studies from those deployments. If you run attribution for several clients, you are its center-of-target customer.

What Growth Pilot does differently

Growth Pilot's Customer Journeys covers the same fundamentals, its own way:

  • A one-line first-party snippet. One script tag and touchpoints start flowing: pageviews, referrers, UTMs and click ids, collected under your own domain. No tag manager project.
  • Identity stitching. Visitors stay anonymous until a form or a newsletter click identifies them, then their whole anonymous history merges into one lead profile. The journey starts at the true first touch, not the form fill.
  • Answer engines as a first-class channel. Buyers increasingly arrive from answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Copilot. Growth Pilot classifies that traffic as its own channel, so those recommendations get a pipeline number.
  • Four attribution models with transparent logs. First-touch, last-touch, linear and position-based on the same journeys, and every report opens down to the raw, timestamped touchpoints behind it.
  • An offline conversions API. Push closed-won deals, booked calls or custom conversions from your CRM, and the revenue attaches to the lead's existing timeline.
  • The rest of the cockpit. This is the structural difference: journeys sit next to AAARRR metrics fed by GA4 and Stripe, growth loops, built-in A/B tests, goals, alerts and missions. Attribution says which channel deserves budget; the cockpit is where you act on it.
  • Self-serve, flat and EU. Sign up without a sales call, pay a flat plan with a free tier, and your journey data is hosted in the EU.

The honest gap

Let's not bury it: Growth Pilot v1 does not automatically upload conversions back to the ad platforms. We capture and store the click ids, gclid, fbclid, li_fat_id and friends, on every touchpoint, so nothing is lost. But the live, retroactive push into Google Ads and Meta that LeadJourney does today is not something Growth Pilot does yet. If that loop is why you are shopping, LeadJourney is the better tool right now, and we would rather say so than have you discover it in week three.

Choose LeadJourney if…

  • Retroactive ad-platform uploads are a hard requirement. You spend meaningfully on Google Ads or Meta for long-cycle deals and want closed revenue feeding the bidding automatically. This is their edge, and it is real.
  • You are an agency. Multiple clients, multiple CRMs, attribution as a deliverable: LeadJourney is built and marketed for that shape of work.
  • Your CRM is niche. If it appears in their 100+ catalog and not in our native list, an integration that exists beats an API you would have to wire.
  • Attribution is the whole job. You already have dashboards, experimentation and project tooling you like, and only need the attribution layer done well.

Choose Growth Pilot if…

  • You want journeys inside the cockpit, not beside it. Timelines, AAARRR metrics, loops, A/B tests and missions on one screen, one subscription.
  • You are self-serve by temperament. Sign up, paste one line, see your first timelines the same day, on a flat plan with a free tier.
  • You need numbers you can defend. Transparent logs open every attribution figure down to its raw touchpoints, which is what makes the report survive contact with the CFO.
  • Answer-engine traffic matters to you. If ChatGPT and Perplexity recommendations are becoming a real acquisition path, you want them measured as a channel, not lumped into referral.
  • EU residency and GDPR posture are non-negotiable. First-party collection under your own domain, hosted in the EU.

Can you run both?

This pairing overlaps too much for that to make sense: two snippets, two lead databases, two answers to "which channel closed this deal". The realistic exception is an agency running LeadJourney for client reporting while using Growth Pilot as the cockpit for its own pipeline. Everyone else should pick one.

Common questions

"Will Growth Pilot add retroactive uploads to the ad platforms?" Click ids are captured and preserved on every touchpoint today, so the data model is ready. But we do not sell roadmap: if automatic uploads are a hard requirement now, choose LeadJourney now. The snippet is one line in both directions, so switching later is cheap.

"Is the one-line snippet really the whole setup?" For collection, yes. Identification happens when a visitor submits an email through your forms, and offline conversions take one API call per deal, a small, one-time developer task.

"Where does the journey data live?" In your Growth Pilot workspace, collected first-party under your domain and hosted in the EU, with timelines auditable per lead.

"Which one is cheaper?" Growth Pilot has a free tier and flat self-serve plans. LeadJourney's pricing is theirs to state, so check their site; with Growth Pilot, attribution arrives bundled with the analytics, testing and execution tools you might otherwise pay for separately.

The bottom line

LeadJourney is a specialist instrument: if closing the loop between CRM revenue and ad-platform bidding is the job, it does that job today and does it well. Growth Pilot treats attribution as one gauge on a larger panel: journeys, funnel, loops, experiments and execution, flat-priced and self-serve. Buy the specialist if the feedback loop is the mission. Take the cockpit if the mission is growth.

See your own journeys assemble: paste the one-line snippet today, and your next closed-won deal arrives with its story attached.
